Ages of wear and tear had reduced the Father's Eye Temple to a mere shadow of it's past; A past unknown to the felids whom had come to inhabit it so long ago and remained yet a mystery to those whom had come after. To build such a structure seemed unfathomable for the likes of the cats, or of any of the creatures that inhabited the Jungle of Ancients - even the sly monkeys with their clever, mobile paws - deemed unlikely to have raised such a phenomenon no matter how much time they were given.

With all other avenues exhausted the cats generations ago had relented to the idea that it was the Gods themselves that had crafted this grand structure, raised it from the very earth by arcane means and shaped it into a grand stronghold for not only themselves but the spirits of the land as well. Gods are known to never linger in one place though and had thus moved on to orchestrate the cosmos in other ways.

Since then many walls had churned down into rubble and strong colonies of vine had curled themselves sinuously time and time again around what were once the rough openings of windows and doors until they put so much pressure upon them they began to crack and sag. Statues resembling feathered serpents and gape-maw cats stood sentinel at near every former entrance, some had their features worn smooth whilst others lacked heads or limbs. What remained was a massive building with many stone carved walks, halls and various rooms where the cats of the Dynasty had claimed as dens and workshops. In it's center was a veritable agora.

Kosm Ebrietas stood in central temple - it's roof long gone - as the sun receded beyond the horizon, and gazed solemnly at the carved markings on the wall: An eye, a bird, a pawprint. He placed his own vast paw upon the last and sighed. Behind him the Father's Eye stone stood immense and glimmered in the light of the breaking dusk. Time had come for the Dynasty to truly meet it's leader, a moment that the Liger had been avoiding like the plague.. Yet here it was, his first moment as a sovereign had come. Andrastos had been dispatched to gather the scattered cats of his rule. Soon they would be here.

Dragging his paw reluctantly from the stone print on the wall the Liger turned and found his way up the ramp to a higher spot. He had seen his late father take this very spot in council and had determined he would adopt it as well. Confused as he was the young Lord readied himself as he would have during his daily drills as Samurai.

He knew not whether to show himself as hard-masked gentility or an open, easy man who understood the heart of their society. A suffocating worry had clasped at his throat and the liger knew that it was now or never. They would come.

Andrastos felt his muscles jump with anticipation under a tight diluted pelt, as he ran through the jungle. He had successfully told all his brethren of the meeting that was to be taken place at this time, though he was determined to be the first one there to speak to Kosm beforehand. The bobcat was quite the sentimental friend, and wanted to encourage his arm brother, now Shogun, before his announcements. Andrastos knew that the nature was his official crowning, though most of the Dynasty knew his current rule.

Before the agile feline knew it, he was at the Father's Eye Temple. He was as in awe as ever, stopping a moment to take it in. The large temple was a beautiful architect, aged to an ominous perfection. Vines curled upward, and statues of ancestors were scattered in a unique pattern. And up on the pedestal higher then the ground was Kosm in all his glory. Andrastos smiled and ran over to the clearing beneath the liger.

He skidded to a halt under, and looked up to Kosm. "You look good up there, Shogun!" He raised his voice slightly, and smiled at the larger felidae. He sat down then, and looked behind him briefly. "I imagine they'll be here soon. You'll do great, my friend." Andrastos smiled, but his bobbed tail twitched. The thought of the wolves still hung on his conscious, and troubled him more than he could let show right now.

Lie with me, lie to me. Come on, dismantle me, do it slowly. My hands, my feet, my voice, take everything. Reduce it all to crystal blackness. Cause blind discipline it's useless. What's the good in being good?.... So go ahead, feed me diamonds.

Lithe and patient, her steps seemed to almost be in slow motion. She took her time, letting the salty winds of the island flow all the way through the jungles and through her still growing ivory fur. The vegetation caught most of the impurities the sea tended to throw into the air, but the lioness felt a general amount of comfort from the horizons of blue.

Off white hairs tingled as she knew her cousin was scheduled to speak today. She hadn't anything else in particular to attend to, lest it be keeping herself clean. The old ways would start taking reign again, of learning and studying the wholesome vastness of life. She wasn't happy to be forced to do such things, but things must be done to keep order, that of which she would have to admit, was rather interested in having once again.

Eager to see her cousin, the youthful lioness picked up her pace as the jungle path cleared into the temples opening. Catching the bobbed tail of Andrastos , she even pulled up a small, almost pleasant smile. It was if it was forced, small and unsure, but it was just her upbringing of constant loneliness she let herself be surrounded by these last couple of months. "Good day, Andrastos.", she nodded.

Her voice, as always, tried to portray itself as if she were grown already. Slow, steady and aided with the theory that if she spoke up like an adult, she would be treated as such. Glancing to Kosm, her chest swelled with earnest compassion. He was one of the only living relatives she had, the key to their legacy at that. "Are you going to dazzle us today Kosm?" She joked, holding a tight lined-smile, knowing he was already slightly on the edge for the meeting.

Upon this sacred ground, desecrated and bound by endless suffering, the lords of mortal flesh, made imperfect with the endless years would glimpse thy holy tomb, the sweet nectar of divine wine, slipping forth from the silent chalice. Here, in the dark, here, where the slumber was made in gossamer chains, he would settle in the throne of crushed stone, the black pool marred by silence. The darkness loomed, caressing once noble halls, gnarled and broken, barren its glimpse of true divinity. Far from once endless halls, where the night dared not tread, where the seasons changed not and the lords and ladies of weakened kingdoms knelt upon alter to swear fealty, plead their virtue, their right to live. Where once, gods walked, their silver thrones struck, taken from dais and lay broken upon the floor. Demons dwelt in the fringes, hissing their archaic runes, their curse to bleed dry beauty and naivety. How long would it be, until those so young, fell to ruin before their grace? Their scheme? Perhaps it had already begun. Noxious scents bled over the earth, stealing thought and whim, drawing chilled eyes upon the ruin, no longer that of its former majesty.

Much had become of the world since. Secrets long past, hidden in plain sight. The books smelling of aged papyrus, stained by ink strained from forgotten blooms. Here, upon the shore of the old world, Xolotl would find sweet dreams lingering in fragmented images. It was easy, to dive into the memories, the spun songs born of necessity. Perhaps, it was time for the gods to fade, perish beneath the demand of the trials who ruled, that of a mortals greed, the sinful darkness creeping forth. The dead rarely remained so, lost in the rituals of magic that thrived, sustained all things. Even when the heart collapsed, and the blood ran cold, the tether remained, holding spirits to the realm. They walked like living creatures, spoke and held position in the falling rubble of the world. Change was falling, perhaps made to be their destruction, perhaps, their salvation. Those whispers offered not but the potential of both, that of a new enemy.

Once dormant gong had sounded, calling forth from the screaming depths those who wandered alone, once, those of the court. Long had it been since last he gazed upon the court of holy divinity, that which once was bed to gods and mortalities finest. At least, according to the fading whispers, transcending time and space. Striding upon the stairs, he laid gilded talons in aged stone, to set upon those gathered. A wraith of what they once were. The ghost stepped forth, he of silent tongue, a gilded chime sounding with each swing of his tail. Gold. Shimmering gold, wound upon his tail, plated in that way to mirror archaic beetles. Edged within its hold, stones of sapphire lay anchored, once hidden treasures the beast had once more unearthed, hidden beneath the falls, their treasures once offerings, once possessions of forgotten founders. It lay bound upon his tail, gleaming, singing with each bend upon his tail. His latest creation. To the others, he would set his gaze upon them a regal nod, in homage, before shifting, his silent steps cast upon stone, one step, two, until he laid upon the earth, the mirror of the Eye casting scrutiny down his back.
